Coastal communities in Lagos State, Nigeria, face severe poverty and high unemployment, leaving many children— including street children, slum dwellers, and orphans—without adequate care or access to spiritual resources. Addressing both physical and spiritual needs in these communities remains a pressing challenge.

The Glow Foundation for Children Empowerment and Development has worked for years in underprivileged areas of Nigeria, supporting children through school supplies, vocational skills training, and structured discipleship programs. Through consistent field engagement, the Foundation identified a major gap: most of the children they serve did not have access to a Bible.

500 New Living Translation (NLT) Text Bibles—African Edition were distributed to students across multiple schools in coastal communities of Lagos State. The distribution brought spiritual encouragement and provided a foundational resource to strengthen ongoing discipleship efforts.

Children and their families expressed deep gratitude for receiving Bibles, many for the first time. Volunteers reported strong engagement, joy, and excitement among the children, noting the positive atmosphere and lasting impact of the outreach.

Community members shared that the Word of God would serve as a guiding light for the children as they grow in faith and purpose.
The initiative was widely regarded as successful and impactful, reinforcing the importance of continued Bible access for children in underserved communities.
